hello! ~
i’m tiffany quilala and this is my photo 120 blog !! despite me typing in all lower case, i enjoy proper grammar, thank you.

I was born in a great amazing city in the bay called Vallejo, California. (I hope you picked up on my sarcasm.)  I have 1 half brother and no sisters. At home, I tend to speak both English and Tagalog. I’m currently undecided on what I want my career to be in the future but hopefully something that has to do with children. In five years, I see myself hopefully almost done with school and working on my future career. My older cousin started out at an art school but then he ended up transferring to a business school, he’s the only one I know who has somewhat gone to college for art. In my free time, I enjoy listening to new music, gardening and getting new succulents, i like drawing and watercoloring, collecting cd’s/albums, and going to concerts/musicals. I enrolled in this class because I enjoy photography and I wanted to learn more about it and also to get my ge credits. I don’t have any photographers currently who I am really interested in but I love photography of old and historical buildings and I particularly enjoy pictures of plants and gardens. My ideal job would be doing something that makes me happy and hopefully working with children and finding artistic value in what I do.

these are a few pictures i really enjoy, i hope you enjoy them as well ^^

yayaoi kasama // souls of a million lightyears away

medium: wood, plastic, glass, mirrors, etc.

size: –

date: 2013

This infinity mirror room which was on display in Los Angeles is truly beautiful. I believe that this display is the epitome of one’s life. Yayoi Kusama states that the world is composed of dots. The sun, moon, people, everything is made of dots. The title of this piece is very intriguing as it makes you believe that everything has a soul. Yayoi promoted peace and love and for that I believe this piece promotes that as well. You should treat everything that has a soul peacefully and with love and because you can see forever in that room, you should feel content and at peace.

koichi kamoshida // KYOTO, JAPAN: JANUARY 7: maiko and geisha walk in the snow at gion

medium: printed photograph

size: 640x 446

date: january 7, 2006

I enjoy this picture very much for it’s beauty. If you know anything about Japanese culture a Maiko and Geisha are very respected figures in the culture. Also, Maiko’s and Geisha’s are very different. What I particularly enjoy from this picture is although the photo doesn’t capture the Maiko or the geisha’s face, you can still imagine what they look like and this also creates a presence of wonder in this picture.

sequinsandcherryblossom.com // best cherry blossoms in london kew gardens

medium: printed photograph

size: –

date: april 24,2013

I love gardens and flowers and plants. I think that every flower is beautiful, especially cherry blossoms. It amazes me how these flowers can go from a pure white color scheme to one of amazing pinks such as magenta and light pink. There are so many different types of cherry blossom trees, all different but all of them produces flowers and some even produce real cherries. The meaning behind these flowers is very intriguing. The life span from bloom to fall of the flower is about a week. They are beautiful and fragile, they also symbolize how short and frail life can be. In the picture especially I love that the tree is almost in full bloom, but there are still some flowers that have not fully opened.
